CEO Athul Lakhani Joins UK Weddings Taskforce

We are delighted to announce that our CEO Atul Lakhani has been nominated to Chair the Large-Scale Weddings Working Group representing the government-appointed UK Weddings Taskforce. The UK Weddings Taskforce provides representation for all UK wedding businesses by engaging with government, media, workers and consumers. 

The UK Weddings Taskforce is designed to provide a cross-section of representation covering traditional and multi-cultural weddings in a formal and effective manner. Established by industry professionals and sector associations, the Taskforce aims to support the recovery of wedding businesses as we navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic. The prohibition more or less on all trading activities since March 2020 has had a major impact upon commercially viable businesses which simply require a bridge and support in order to re-open safely, as advocated for by Athul Lakhani. 

The UK Weddings Taskforce encompasses numerous businesses including: venues, bridal boutiques, photographers, cake makers, wedding shows, hotels, florists, caterers, marquee specialists, wedding planners, entertainers, bands, gift lists, hair and makeup artists, celebrants, media platforms, designers, cinematographers, bloggers, DJs, wedding transport specialists, sound and lightning technicians, scenic designers, florists, toastmasters, hire-ware specialists and stationers.
