Making an impact at your event

With the events market becoming increasingly saturated and super competitive, organisers are working harder than ever before to make sure their events have the biggest impact possible. Making a memorable impression not only impresses guests during the event but if it’s memorable enough afterwards, then this opens up the possibility of future business. Below we share our tips on creating a memorable event.

Ground/Venue Entrance

This is easily the most overlooked part of putting on an event, but it’s undoubtedly one of the most important as first impressions really do count. Simple things like clean, clear ground/venue entrances with easy to follow signage and plenty of parking are all key to setting the tone for the evening. It’s worth taking some time to plan out the guests very first interactions with the venue to make sure everything is considered.

Greeting & Service

We can all agree that the key to any event is the helpfulness and friendliness of the event staff. Having a friendly face to welcome you and offer you a drink can put your guests at ease and can help them to enjoy the evening. Continuing this level of service throughout the event until the last guest leaves is paramount and this is ultimately what separates the very top events from the rest.

Decoration

By far the most crucial part of any event jigsaw, the decoration is king when it comes to setting your event theme. It should be one of the areas you spend most attention and allocate most of your budget too. Going the extra mile here will give your event a luxurious feel which your guests will inevitably notice and appreciate.

Entertainment

Sitting alongside your decor and general theme is your entertainment, this should reflect the theme of your event to ensure you have a consistent theme throughout. For example, if your event is a 1920’s themed Great Gatsby party, then the entertainment should reflect this, from the music to the dancers and perhaps mixologists for those themed cocktails.

Catering

Lastly and most importantly catering, this brings together the whole event. To make an impact consider outside of the box measures like live food stations so your guests can become part of the cooking experience. Additionally, why not move away from the standard 3 course menu and shake things up a little by introducing new cuisines and flavours. This will not only make the event more exciting but will add to the nights overall memorability.

At the IXL Events Centre we have hosted several large events and as a result we know how to make that impact everyone wants.
