Creating the perfect corporate event on a low budget

We’re often asked by clients on how to host the perfect corporate event on a low budget and what tips we at the IXL can offer. We’ve decided to tackle this head on, Nikki our in house events coordinator shares some of her top tips for hosting your corporate event on a low budget.

Short Event Lead Time

When planning your event, choosing a date in the same month or even the following month can reduce the overall cost of your event. Research suggests that planning an event on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday is likely to save you on average 25% when compared to the beginning and end of the working week.

It’s also important to give a lot of thought about which month you wish to hold your event in. January is a great month to book an event especially when you’re working with a limited budget. It’s a good way to kick off the New Year and to take stock of the previous year and where you want to go in the year ahead.

Choosing the right package

As with anything, choosing the right package for your event is incredibly important. Not only will it make sure you only use the space and equipment you truly need but this will of course cut out additional extras which you may not necessarily need and may still be charged for. For example, using the venues existing setup could save you when it comes to additional equipment usage.

Using Recommended Suppliers

Using recommended suppliers where possible is a great way to cater for a low budget event. When it comes to catering and equipment every venue should have a list of recommended suppliers who they have a special relationship with and can usually assist you with your requirements at a slightly reduced rate. Additional costs can often arise when you wish to use external suppliers at your preferred venue, so it’s worth discussing what there arrangements are before deciding on a venue.
